RootsPersona is supported on the WordPress.org forum. It is free, public, and the answers help the next person with the same question.
Before you ask
- Look through the FAQ and the help sections: Getting started, GEDCOM, Privacy.
- Update RootsPersona to the latest version: the problem may already be fixed.
- Search the forum, someone may have asked the same.
What to write
A good question gets a quick answer. Please tell:
- the versions of RootsPersona, WordPress and PHP (Tools → Site Health → Info shows them);
- your theme and page builder, if any (Elementor and so on);
- for GEDCOM problems: the genealogy program and its version that made the file;
- what you did, what you expected and what happened instead;
- the exact error text, and a screenshot if it helps.
Write in English if you can; questions in other languages, Russian among them, are answered too.
Keep private data private
The forum is public. Do not post GEDCOM files, import logs, names and dates of living people, passwords or links to private pages. When the developer needs a file or a log, they will tell you how to send it privately. For upload problems, see how to get a clean import log.
Security issues
If you found a security vulnerability, do not post it on the forum. Report it privately to the WordPress.org Plugins Team at plugins@wordpress.org; they pass it to the developer.
How you can help
- Leave a review on the plugin page: it helps other families find RootsPersona.
- Translate the plugin into your language at translate.wordpress.org.
- Report problems with files from your genealogy program. A small test file from a program we have not tried yet is very welcome — with invented people or without the living.
- Tell what you miss: ideas for new features are welcome on the forum.
